So how is that mix doing? IE how long have you had everyone in there. I do like the big rocks and the great thing about that type is your peacocks/haps wont hurt themselves. But it would be hard to give up that much space in a 55.

Anyways looks very nice, much nicer than any of my 55 grow outs.

The mix has been together for about 6 months, i add new ones every once in awhile without hesitation.

i had to get rid of a snow white socoloffi after he killed a frontosa, and a trav. He had the red zebra constantly hiding in the corner. Since he was removed the red zebra has taken control pretty much and is a peaceful dictator.

how much water displacement do those rocks cause. plus, i hope you have something like eggcrate or plexiglass along the bottom to distribute the weight. most folks wouldnt say a 55 is a big tank, but i bet those same people would this 55 gallons of water is alot to vacuum off the floor

Housekeeping q: Do you have to take all the rock apart to clean and then restack it all again? And if so, what kind of time does it take?

i just put a whole lot in there but i have a powerhead along the back to push poo into the filters so i only have to clean the front which is easy. Eventually in a couple months i figure ill take it all out and do a mega clean but for now everything is working well.
