Wow this is one crazy thread I can tell the mods still dont care much about us native guys on this forum (and I dont get on here much) :nilly:. To the OP dont get a pickerel it is not compatible with the species you already have. It needs an unheated tank and one bigger or wider then the average 55 gal. Dont buy a fish if you plan to just give it away if it out grows your tank. My old Esox americanus grew to 6 inchs in the first few months. Esox americanus can and do reach sizes over 12 inchs.

So no do not get a pickerel ;).

good to hear from you to Ill be poking around from time to time. Might do some updated tank shots tomorrow dwindled down to just a Green sunfish and a Red spotted sufish. The more time I spend on here the more I want to start re-expanding back.

I understand, I am waiting until we buy a house this spring to expand from a 39g to a 75g. I have plans for a Missouri Longear community tank with striped shiners and Checkered madtoms as the co-inhabitants. Does your Redspotted have the Blue crescent on it behind the gill?

That sounds great, I dont think it does.

I have never seen Redspotted with the crescent in the wild, but Zimmermans fish carries some like with the Blue crescent behind their gills; it looks pretty cool.
