are red fins able to be kept with arrowannas and knife fish? do you think they would pick on or be picked on? better yet could they get along? i have never kept a native fish and was just looking for some general information. size, aggression, feeding. stuff like that thanks.

i dont know if they will work together but could you tell me what a good temp is for redfin pikeral thanks

:)

Red Fins can be kept in tropical temperatures. Sayyyy, around 75 degrees or so would be fine. They're fairly timid and laid back fish and they definetely need plenty of places to hide. They like to hide among plants so they can ambush their prey. They're piscovores and I hear its really tough to get them off of live food.

I don't think they'll bother your clown knife or aro, but then again, i've never had any of them together, so I'm not 100% sure.

Benfica was pretty accurate. They should get along, pickerel tend to ignor fish to large to eat.

My redfin is a beast. He tries to eat any fish smaller than himself, and some bigger. I tried to keep a little Lepomis sp. with him. I thought it was too big to be eaten, but I was wrong. Also, have to make sure that a knife wouldnt eat the pickerel.

how big is he

well he is geting to be a monster

Here are a few pics of my redfin pickerel.
