redfin pikeral

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Most of the redfin pickerel we get around here have the bright red fins. Size or location doesn't seem to matter. For what it's worth I feed mine shiners, crayfish, and grass shrimp. I'm kinda surprised the ones you get in GA aren't just as red.

Mine is much smaller than yours. You can see the red hue to his fins, but they arent bright red.
Even the smaller ones have quite red fins. What type habitat do you catch yours in? We get ours in a variety of habitats, from flowing, sandy bottom creeks to still muddy, heavily vegetated ponds & ditches.

He came from a pond. Nothing spectacular. Just a little bream pond. I will try to get him to eat some ghost shrimp and possibly crayfish. That would add some new dimension to his diet.
