Really great pics, i love redfins, I've managed to get them to breed a few times in outdoor ponds. I have a small one now, he ate his first minnow yesterday, he has been eating daphnia for the past two months. Great fish and they look best in hard black water over dark substrate.

I had a "black" redfin pickerel once, he was a mellanistic individual. i wanted to try and see if i could breed him with another fish from the same pond i thought i might be able to breed in the color. Of course he jumped out of the tank and was gone.

Pickerels are great fish, i breed gambusia in ponds, gambusia are almost custom made for redfins to eat in my area and they occur together most of the time. Your fish are great, good pics too, are your fish native to your area or did you buy them?
