redline with redbellies

You are 100% correct. Anyone who thinks a group of P's couldn't easily devour a baby S/h is not to be taken seriously.;)
I once saw a documentary where a huge Pbass was eating p's at will and they did nothing. However when the dry season came and the lake started to dry up and the P's got hungry they devoured that same huge Pbass with ease.

Of course they are capable of it if there is enough of them. They would be capable of devouring almost anything if they decided to, in great enough numbers. The question is whether they would, whether they'd have the guts. Unless they are absolutely starving, I'd say no.

I'd also say if the tank was starved, the channa would have probably gobbled most of them before they decided to.

Something will die for sure.

Its worth mentioning that a micro's mouth is as well armed a any P. There are many pics on the web of fish sliced clean in half by them.

The P as a group if they decided to attack would have the advantage I think. I the wild Micros are known to hunt in groups as adults and that would be a different story.

when young they hunt in groups... i think in adult-hood they go it alone....

Yeah only a matter of time before the P's are gone. Probably the reason why he is getting rid of it.

I propose a little experiment:) . I know red snakeheads are still legal in Europe what about Piranha's? If they are here is what I propose and I nominate the honorable Rumblesushi to carry it out:D. Lets buy 7 red bellies(thats what I count in the tank we are discussing) and 1 red S/H and place them in a Predator community tank since this is what Rumble likes to keep. Lets try to approximate the size of the fish in the photo. Then we will sit back and wait and rumble can give us daily or weekly updates. Even though I and everyone else on the piranha boards knows the outcome I would still be willing to send a check to contribute towards this experiment for all to see.:naughty: If rumble does not want to volunteer do we have anyone else who would step up?

Yeah channas have a ravenous appetite. it would find the straggler of the group & hit it problem would come once there is blood in the water the other pyrogs. will go beserk the snakehead may hit some but more then likely they'll turn on each other first.

ps hunt in a pack. so if there all well fed no problems till the sh doubles the ps size.. but if the tank is starved the ps will bite huge holes in him and feed as the nasty little bastards do.. 4-6 ps and u might get away with mixing some types of fish but if u do a big tank of 15+ps then just about anything u put in there will be killed.. specially caribe.
