Reds in Canada ?

Because lawmakers don't consider these things. Not many ichthyologists in congress.
 
I work in a lfs in b.c. and we have reds, and all kinds of snakeheads on out avilability list ALL the time.

they wont die from the cold, they can survive at temp 0 to 1 degree, and if your at the bottom of the great lakes or a deep body of water, temperature will stay at a constant of 4 degree.. so it will survive thru winter ;)

as for illegal and avaliability.. screw them.. bylaw said you cant keep alligator, caiman, large monitor, anaconda.. and my head turns around, I see a dozen of store sell caiman, nile monitor and anaconda. Wish I can report them, but I dont think the government will do anything about it :O
 
they are all over the place i can get all kinds but will i get them for you ?????????? they are arround ontario i know a couple of places and reds usually go for 30-50

your confusing with northern snakehead (cold water species) reds are a tropical fish and could not overwinter anywhere in northern usa nevermind canada
 
Which province are you moving to? I know you can get them in BC, lfs had no problem ordering a batch of lil Reds.
