Redtail Brycon in Large Community?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's also been labeled as an Ecuador barracuda. Be careful, they are very aggressive especially towards silver colored tankmates.
Thanks. I've had him for a out a week in a 100 with a small bass and 2 redhooks. He hasn't shown any aggression. He mostly tries to school with the bass. I'll try and get some pics.

So far so good with the brycon. He's working out real well in this 100 with the bass and red hooks. The only time he shows any aggression is when I feed them. That said does anyone have experience putting 2 together? I'm thinking about moving the red hooks and adding another brycon with plans of eventually going into the 12' tank.

Can add another. They school together in the wild. If u get a 12 ft tank then can add more for sure. Not sure what ur complete stock is though.

Cool. Thanks. Although he's not been aggressive with the bass and red hooks I'm a bit trepidatious putting him in the 12' tank. It's mostly geos and severums. Here's the build link. What do you think?

Missing the link. As a group they can be intimidating to other fish. Smaller fish will be gone quick. Should be good with ur bass as big dithers.

I've seen it before. Didn't recall it off the top of my head. Will look good for sure. Get some more and will be schooling well in there.

+1 just went through that. Nice build, took some work, looks to have payed back in the end. I think you can get a few more and be fine.

I've had this guy since thanksgiving and he'd been doing real well. He's still in the 100 gallon grow out. He's been a voracious eater until about a week ago.I haven't seen him eat in at least 7 days. Nothing else has changed and water parameters are fine. I treated the whole tank with metro 3 days ago. Any thoughts?

As long as it's acting and swimming normal then wouldn't worry about it. May just hold feedings for several days and make sure the diet is varied.
