They would be more suitable with koi of that size in such a volume of water, especially if you had any way to view from the side also, they can be hard to see from above.

I was thinking of marbled acharas and sailfin pims

If the latter are sailfin marbled pims then both would work even with 3" koi based on my experience as these catfish are not predatory by nature.
