Buying a RTC, getting it large and healthy then letting it live in a tank where it cannot even turn around isn't much of a rescue.

Most fish that "should be rescued" (Tends to be mostly pacus, RTCs and ID sharks at work) will outgrow their rescue tanks anyways and will end up having more problems because of that.

The best thing you can do is hope for the best and if it does die, it will further convince the store not to carry RTC babies. It's sad but if they don't see any dead RTCs, they will continue to think it's fine to always have a tank of baby RTCs.

That was never my plan..lol... I have a 1,000g pond in the planning stage right now. I thought I could help this little guy out but for $125 I just couldn't. I hope he finds a decent home with lots room to move.

now that i work there he will... ;)

I think $125 really is kinda cheap. I think they should cost more. Cause if you have the money for the bigger tanks and the food, then you can be able to pay the money for the RTC

I agree to a point. A large healthy rtc should be higher priced to ensure that the person buying it can care for it .. But $125 for a traded in super skinny rtc with no gaurantee is too much for a rescue IMO:screwy::screwy::screwy:...
