I grew both of mine out in a 125 so they would make it in my pond. I built a 4500 gallon pond because of them. They do get huge and be prepared to get attached. They have such cool personalitys and I couldnt part with either of mine. When you up grade the tank go as big as possible from there, it will save you money in the long run

Sweet! That one looks huge!! Mine is still only about 8in. Growing by the minute thought! Just watched him destroy a crayfish! Awesome! He is in a 75 gal and moving up to a 125 gal tomorrow. Best I can do for right now.
