really? cause i was checking out a couple fish store sites and they have catfishes smaller in size (same breed) for 2 times more than i'm asking. which made me laugh cause we were gonna price him much higher and thought that was too much.

the key word is "smaller"

the bigger they get theres less and less people capable stuffing them in their tiny tanks and sellers really can't lie about what tank size they can go into so forces the seller to reduce the price :)

lol if i gotta drive all the way down there, you gotta at least pay my gas money lmao.

but i don't really have the time anyway to travel to kansas seeing as i'm moving at the end of this week.

haha yes, i guess that was rather stupid of me. but what i really meant to say, was that the catfish they were selling was only about 6 inches shorter. thats why i was shocked that it was so much. it wasnt like a 1 foot catfish it was like a 2 & half foot catfish, give or take.

Although he might be "worth" a small fortune, to be able to rehome him that fast you would almost need to be paying someone to take him. Hopefully one of the aquariums or the uni will take him in and give him a great home.
I agree

big fish are easy to buy, but hard to rehome...........

a valuable lesson

try NY Aquarium by Coney Island or Jenkensons down on Pt. Pleasant boardwalk. Wish I could take it, It looks very healthy for being cramped in that tank

i'll try them thank you.

actually the vet said he could probably live in that tank forever as long as it was kept clean and he got the right nutrition. only thing we'd really have to do would be to take out the other fish. but since we can't do that, he needs a new home.
