Do these guys tend to be agressive with other, non aggro predators? :)

Non-agro predator = oxymoron. Unless you're talking about ambush predators.

i mean agression as in beats up things it obviouly can't / isn't planning on eating. :)
Like doviis / ARTC / jardini etc

yeah, from what ive been told, they tend to shank things that they dont like. Especially top swimming predators or fish. They dont like things swimming above them.

ARTC is a definate no-no. you'd be better off with a S. American rtc mixing with scomb's. payara will eat what they think they can swallow, so if you mix other fish in make sure they are about same size or bigger, so they wont get eaten.

Wasn't asking about mixing with an ARTC, but you answered my question. lol
Thanks.

Mine wasnt agressive at all. Occasionally hed get into it with my smallest dat (3") and he was about 7" though neither sustained any damage.

As soon as I dropped in the smaller (4.5") armatus he went ape **** on him and they had to be separated.

most redtails can cope with tankmates of the same size. if they have a problem with someone u will know right away. it still depends on the fish though.

Mine are non aggressive. I have a pink tailed chelceus in with them....always have since I got them....never leaves the topwater and has sustained nothing more than 1 tattered tail. The PTC is about 5 inches. The Tats close to 7 inches. If they were going to attack anything I believe it would be this small, slender, silvery fish.

Also have a 3 inch clown loach in with them. And the thing is not much bigger than the goldfish the Armatus is eating......

I wouldn't even try to mix them with a Jar. My Jar=the anger.
