Redtail Payara

DB, Id be weary with that clown loach. While now everything may be fine, all it takes is for that loach to swim through the water column for some reason one night and a tat try and eat it. Both would most likey die cause of the loaches eye spines.

I don't have to worry about the Tat trying to eat it. My Tats live peacefully with goldfish. Have kept them for up to 2 weeks in with them before I got the Armatus. My Payara tank was where the qt'd feeders went before they were fed off to the few fish I had still stuck on live. Now that I want them back on live they will NOT eat it.

That'de be just my luck.....LMAO.....spend 9 mo. on a waiting list for an Armatus......FINALLY get one and it dies from a stupid clown loach.......That happens and I swear every fish I own will be in the classified section.

Thanx for the advice......I will move it tonight......but to where?
My only options are a 75 with a Fahaka, a 180 with 4 motoros, 5 dats, and a SARTC, Or da vat....150 gal rubbermaid with a TSN, CK, Jar, Front, gars, and a ARTC.
Only other option is a LFS.

will a 5" red tail payara be okay with 2 -10" spotted gars and 2 9" senegal bichirs? i'll be moving them to seperate tanks soon though.

I'de be VERY carefull if I were you. IF it was me....absolutly NOT. I had a spotted gar that was only 6 inches that I moved OUT of my Payara tank. Smallest Payara was 6 inches. It kept trying to steel food right out of the mouths of the Payara. Once I saw this happen to my Armatus I refrained from stranggling the gar myself and moved it.

You might be able to house them together but I wouldn't at all be suprised if the Tat (red tail) refused to eat.

If you want info on Hydrolycus Tatauaia (Red tails) Then use google. It will take you to a site that has plenty of info on them.
