Ok so i found myself in a pretty weird situation..Monday i drove all the way to compton from rancho cucamonga for a redtail catfish i arrived at the guys house and hes was the most gangster out fish keeper i have ever seen..anyways the guy gave me my fish in a damn huggies container..all i wanted to do was be on my way so i paid him grabed the fish and left..i had exactly an hour b4 i had a board meeting to attend, so i drove like a bat out of hell to get back..i arrived home with 15 mins to spare..i know its a big no no to jus net a fish and float him in new water but i had too...he seemed to be ok in my tank b4 i left but when i got home like 3 hours later he was jus sitting at the bottom of my tank in a corner..he is still breathing but not moving..its now day four and hes still in the same spot..i have a fish man that comes and services my tank once a month and he said that the rtc is a strong fish and he will stable out..my rtc is 9 inches so he is pretty big and none of the other fish bother him..has anyone had a expirence similar? ive waited a while to find this fish and im pretty pissed about the whole situation but it is what it is..any feedback would be greatly appreciated..thanks kezzie

Give him a little more time to adjust to it's new home. turn off the lights and see what he does. Is the RTC eatting?

So what your sayin is that your bought a thug RTC from a Gangsta and your wondering why he's chillin in the corner... Prob waitin for a blunt

Seems like it's alright but might be alittle shy of his surroundings, just turn off the lights and leave him to it... could be a vast change in water quality (one way or the other) Hunger strikes at this size arn't anything to be worried about unless they last a month or more... it will come around long before then I'm sure.

:ROFL:That almost made me spit chewed cucumber all over my keyboard and screen. Freaking hilarious. :grinno: Poor guy is probably going through withdrawals right now. Hot box the room and see if that gets him to come around and eat! j/k But, come on, have you ever seen bong water? A hang on the back filter or drip plate would act pretty much the same way. Who knows how much THC has passed over those gills.

Seriously, though. He's probably just in a little shock. Try to keep his water quality good and feed him with the lights on the tank out and the room dim. I hope your little dude is okay. Keep us updated.

I turn off the lights at night when i go to bed and turn them back on when i wake..and hes kinda active in the tank..you know i fed all my fish on tuesday so i dont know if he ate or not..30 feeders disapear in a matter of 2 mins in my tank..i dunno whatelse i can do..my fish guy wont be over untill saturday..does fish usually snap out of this state?

dont turn the lights on at all for the next few days that will help .. but if he is still alive .. she should be just fine in the long run .. as long as he starts eating ..

did the last owner tell you what he was feeding him? i would try that .. or just watch at the next feeding to see what he is doing ..
