lol the lights off is not going to bother anything in the tank unless its planted .. and the cat will fix that soon enough because they will get HUGE!!!!

as long as there is not live plants in the tank the lights do nothing for the fish .. its just so we can see them

and "special" Brownies are not going to have the protein the fish need to grow

dont turn the lights on at all for the next few days that will help .. but if he is still alive .. she should be just fine in the long run .. as long as he starts eating ..

Unless you have a planted tank, the lights are for our benefit, not the fish's.

Leave them off untill he has settled in (unless of coarse the tanks planted).
