Just to clear the air a bit as there appears to be some misunderstandings.
This site and all of the MAN network is free for public use. That means that every dollar that is spent is coming directly out of the owners pocket. Why should he have to pay for our fun? These "rules" that you so easily bash were implemented to ease the financial burden of owning and operating these sites. For the amount of money that is made on this site by vendors, the fee is but a drop in the bucket. Why is it such a "no-no' to ask people to pitch in? Would you rather have a membership fee like other sites?
As for the monopolies, if you want to be a vendor, you must do one of two things; pay the fee and remain reputable. If you do not do those two things, you cannot be a vendor. Both members you mentioned had those opportunities and did not come through. Before the secondary argument is made, there is a big difference between for-profit sales and hobbyist selling excess fish. Both persons you mentioned, were doing sales for profit.
