It's a fish lice. They are a pain in the ass to get rid of. The armatus is lookin good bro. How big is he now? I told you they grew much faster than the others. :naughty:
 
he is about 8 or 9 inches now. do u think if that louse came from my new redtail that i should take him out because he might have eggs on him?
 
I have no idea if you should or not but since most parasitic animals have different life stages with differents hosts my guess once you physically remove the louse you should be fine.
 
the fish lice aren't so bad unless it goes unnoticed for a while. there is one easy treatment option, but its not so easy to find--remove any visible ones then treat with dimlin or something based on it, its harmless to fish it just makes crustaceans unable to molt properly, so the little fish lice (being crustaceans) wont be able to complete their life cycle and will die out from your tank. or if that was the only one you found keep a sharp eye out for another month or so and if no more appear you should be all set.
