I have a 36g FOWLR tank. Currently, the only inhabitant is one 4 striped damsel. No...I didn't start with just one. The problem I have is any type of fish I try to put in the tank, he kills in a matter of days. I would really like to stock this tank with a few fish as a little grow out before I bring home a bigger tank. (at least 200 gallons)

So, what type of fish could I add...And how could I do it? :nilly:

Remove the damsel. They are famous for this.

You can try to re-arrange the rocks, but the only sure fire way is to take him back to the LFS.

Alright....I might just grow some corals in there then. Thanks.

The only for sure way is to bring him back... I had a hawkfish that would attack any new comers and I was able to calm him down a bit if i would quarantine him in the sump for a week and re-arrange the rocks a little. But, having to do this with all new livestock was a pain so he is no longer with me.

I bought him from petco...Lol. So, I can't take him back...And quite honestly, I love him. He's so cool, plus, he's my first ever saltwater fish. So, Im going to keep him...I just wanted to know if I could reduce the aggression.

You can return fish to Petco or any other LFS. They are not going to give you any money for damsels when you return them anyway because they were cheap in the first place and quite aggressive when larger.

Since you are attached to him, keeping in the tank by himself will be the way to go.

Hahaha. Ok. He's a cute little guy...I need to find a name for him.

Damsels are crazy aggressive. Includes clowns too. Nomatter what you do they'll be viscous. Just depends who is stronger and kills the other
