Umm...I think I know that, not sure why you even posted that. My post said over-filtering has nothing to do with lowering 'nitrates' just ammonia & nitrites. He was asking about lowering nitrates.

You were right... The tank is aged plenty enough to have been cycled but clearly is either not cycled or going through a mini cycle. Improved filtration would be a solution in one of my tanks.
