wich r/o system would u suggest if i were to get one?? if you can provide me with a link i would apreciate it...also does it hook to your sink or do you actually have to install it into your water system??
 
idk i haven't bought on.. i get mine at the store..

try asking somebody with a larger tank, one of the guys in the shark forum. they (im pretty sure) would have a home model
 
I'm sure a home unit would work fine, but you get better quality when you get one designed for fishkeeping. Usually using better filters and other different forms of media. www.thefilterguys.biz is were i got mine and for the cost, i get one heck of a unit. Supplying all 9 of my tanks and my home water consumption is more then plenty. something to consider.
 
hmmm... I only use RO water with my tank and the nitrates hover around 20ppm. I've got plenty of LR and only 3 fish in by 20 gallon tank, but no beans on getting nitrates under 15.
 
well there's no need for calcium (unless you're concerned with good coralline growth)
or magnesium, strontium/meolybdnem, iodine (unless you have a lot of inverts)

basically all you'd need to worry about is nitrogenous waste (ammo nitrite nitrate) SG and temp...

15 - 20ppm is nothing to worry about, try and keep that as the maximum though.

Thats more than adequate for a reef system. Under normal circumstances, iodine should not have to be dosed to the tank as it gets this from foods and salt mix..
