Nope, you wouldn't be able to keep a 20k gallon pond heated enough outdoors. It would have to be indoors, and therefore a tank. There's a sticky in DIY of a guy who made a 50k gallon tank and that would still be small for 50 ATF. Do you have any idea how large they get?

You could easily keep a 20,000g pond heated in a warm climate. It doesn't get cold everywhere you know. And why does it have to be a tank just because it's indoors? Quite a few people on here have indoor ponds.
We're planning on doing an indoor pond for our arow eventually because we've really decided we like how they look from above.

well if i do an above ground pond it will be indoors. if i have enough land to do a pond outdoors, it will be in the ground.

Yeah. I have read probably about half the available info on them. I need the reall zoological stuff. Know where I can find such articles? Articles on studies conducted by zoologists, biologists.... thanks
