I got a few more sunfish to fill my tank a little. They are in a breeders net so I couldn't get good pictures. They are tiny, less then a 1/4 inch and still translucent. 20160426_200856.jpg 20160426_200909.jpg 20160426_200932.jpg

I went away for a few days came home and my pumpkin seed was gone. I don't want to jump to conclusions but I think it was the bullheads. Last week I added 4 koi. Next day they were all gone and my bullheads were huge.

Today I decided to buy a fishing rod and get some larger fish. The water was real clear. First hour and a half got nothing. I was targeting smaller sunfish with cheese and I think my hook was to large. The fish will eat the cheese and not the hook. I saw lots of bass and pickeral. I put on a jig and had some pickeral stalk in but no bits.

I then caught my first pumpkinseed on cheese. I put a jig on and tried to catch a real nice pumkinseed. He would put the jig in his mouth run with it and spit it out. I switched to cheese and he will do the same. I think I didn't have enough tension on my line and I wasn't setting the hook. After about 15 bites I finally caught him. Right when I pulled him from the water he jumped into by bucket. I didn't have to touch him.

My line keep getting wrapped under the reel which sucked. I had a lot of fun. I am not into fishing and rarely go. The only time I fish is with my friends a few time a year. And I didn't go the past few years. I also caught a tiny turtle. I put him back. Pictures to come of the fish.

Any pictures of the real nice pumpkinseed?

The ones I moved into their own tank can be seen in the link below. You will have to give me a few hours to get pictures of what I caught today.

I didn't catch him but there was a real nice pumpkineed that was about 75% red.

Here they are right before I put them in the tank. They are a little stressed out. The top larger one is the one that kept running off with my lure
The bottom of the Orange basket is 7inx4in the it tappers at the top and becomes 8inx5in.

I still have a few weeks before fishing will be good here I did go and spot some small greenies last night and I caught a pike minnow that I'm pretty excited about.

They are full pumpkinseeds. Last week I moved my fish to my parents house and they are currently in a kiddy pool. I also added a chain pickerel to the mix. I will post pictures up once I get my tank up and running. Next weekend I will be driving my tank home.
