They grow really slowly: I've had mine for 6 months now, feeding them FD krill, termite eggs, blackworms, feeder fish and shrimp, and they haven't even gained a single mm carapace length.
If you think I spend lots and lots of time on my tanks...I have tropical plants, carnivorous plants, millipedes, a rack of bettas, a calotes lizard, 6 cynops orientalis, 2 paramesotriton newts and a paddletail newt in my room in addition to the tanks in the living room...my parents complain everyday
