I wanted to try it on freshwater glad to here of your success.
I swear buy my homemade "fug" on my reef tank-and you are spot on about the bio-balls

I filter my reef tank with macro and get better results all around-I will never go back.

I stuck a small cutting of a pothos plant in my HOB filter on my goldfish tank and now its about 6-7 feet long. It seems to grow well and my nitrates dont seem to rise too much...
