Yep Channa Bleheri that is quite amassing the second photo in you original shots looks like a completely different SH. I have bred them in the past. . The males are larger then females of the same age. I have had them with Angle fish ok a lot bigger than yours but they were fine. It is an unaggressive snakehead which grows to only 15cm-20cm hens the term Dwarf Snakehead .The tank MUST be properly covered they jump don’t leave them a bolt hole.

thanks 4 that:headbang2 i normaly leave my lids up/open all day, thanks bud.

Snakeheads are notorious jumpers and dare I say runners most of us on here that have kept them have at some time experience an escape you can normally get them back to life even from quite desiccated but its not worth the risk keep that lid on tight. Don’t panic about not feeding for a day or two they should be right a rain when they settle in.;)

UK members are far and few between but we are getting there the ones on here are good lads.

My first pair of Oscars were call Ronny and Reggie :D

what are the snakeheads that have a orangs stripe running along the body? (Channa micropeltes? red snakehead? or are there more than 1 sh that looks like this?)
any info on them mate, size? or are they the monsters?

and would they take things like squid, muscles and prawns as well as frozen fish bits?

Is this it? if so don’t go there I have had one of theses bad boys its a Red Snakehead or CHANNA MICROPELTES or giant snakehead my one was over 2 foot and mad as :swear: killed all its tank mates but they get to 3 ft so unless you want a large tank with one fish don’t do it. And they don’t stay like that

that is a nice looking fish, if only they maxed out at about a foot/ foot and a half.

The Red Snakehead is one of the largest of all fish from the family Channidae. Not the biggest but large enough.Reds are ferocious predators demanding a constant supply of food. They will frequently kill more than they can eat. my one killed nearly every fish he was with he was a BAD  er but i loved him;)
