Mine was skittish until around 8 inches. Only food she would eat was shrimp and blood worms. But since you tried those I would just continue to try until she accepts it. My jar was single handedly brought up to 8 inches from shrimp and blood worms mixed in with some pellets.

Once they hit 8 inches they become a totally different fish so just wait it out. Mine isnt scared or skittish one bit now. Mine which is about 14 inches has a personality of a little child always running up and wanting attention lol.

Would you keep the lights off when she was small? And also would she eat the shrimp on the floor or on the drop? The shrimp I fed him sank to the bottom and he ignores it and persists to avoid food and me at all costs. I will continue each and every day trying to feed and I will remove the food when it's been in there for a while. And also how do you tell the sex I notice you calls yours a she. And also one more thing I will try to hang in there wit this fish but if it dosent decide to eat soon then I will be very upset as I don't want him to die and there goes $100

Oh as for the she, I just think its a girl purely from speculation lol. Just got a feeling. But feeding was so horribly painful.. I just left it in there for a day and if it wasnt eaten then take it out and try again with a fresh piece of shrimp. I tried to starve her to get on pellets several different occasions but I would always give in.. At 5 inches she would go over 3 weeks and I couldnt take it. If she was older sure 3 weeks is nothing but at 5 inches its very dangerous. I never met a fish that would turn down frozen Hikari blood worms, expect my huge jag.

I would never turn the lights on as she would ram into everything even more. I couldnt even walk into my own room without having her run into something and mess up her barbs. Stayed like that for a while.. but its worth it. At around 8 inches they warm up to you and its really personal and rewarding. But when you feed frozen blood worms, throw it in there hard so its splashes and leave the room. Always works for me.

Just now threw in a cube of bloodworms mind you it's the 5th or 6th time I have put one in without him eating it but this time I do what I normally do wait for it to unthaw and if it's not eaten I remove it but before I could go in with a siphon to take it out I noticed him darting at the top of the water once or twice and he actually are a tiny bit of the ones that floated :D so happy that made my day!!! Now I have to keep it up lets see how it goes. And also he was doing fine wit the added fish but when I woke up today he considers the gourami and loaches more an annoyance rather then buddies he chases them but they are too big to be eaten

IMO id leave the feeders in there and wait it out. fish will eat when they are hungry. it could take awhile for it to adjust. I have a silver aro and it didn't eat for a week when I first got em. I was worried as well but its doing just fine now and eats ALOT! enjoy this time where you don't have to feed as much. it will come around.
