Regrets NOT buying a fish?

I was just thinking about a very interactive little midevil I ran into a few years ago that I wish I had the pleasure of keeping...Any fish you ever regret not buying??
Of cource we all have atleast one fish that we wish we absolutely never took home but I wanna hear the opposite stories.

Yes, every time I go to the LFS!

Most recently, saw a very nice tomocichla tuba , about 4" or so, at absolutely fish in NJ. Species I have always been interested in, but have never kept.

I ordered 4 wild manacapuru red discus from a well respected vendor who ended up having a stroke ( some terrible health issue) and I had to be refunded for my purchase.
I still dream of these fish.

Recently a true Cross River puffer came across my FB newsfeed... still debating if i should enquire about it or not, since i know it will cost an arm and a leg...

If it sells out before that, i’ll let you know if i regret it or not...

The store actually private messaged me after i commented on their photo where they asked if i was interested in actually buying the fish or just wanted to see it...

So i replied saying i definitely want to see it and if its under USD $500 i’d more than likely interested (knowing it was highly unlikely i’d get it at that price but still worth a shot)

Anyway, after about 10min i got a very simple reply of “Not Possible” lol...

Long story short, was there any regret; none what-so-ever because i honestly couldnt justify the price of the fish nor do i have the space unless i sell my G.Polyuranadon (which i would had done if the fish was cheaper)

Yes.
A beautiful male silver saum. It makes it worse that I took the time to take a picture of him just as an everlasting reminder of how gorgeous he was.


A few others I wish I had bought, but they can easily be bought a different time when they are available again. But, not that male saum

I know i may one day feel the same way about the cross river puffer i just passed on due to the absurd rarity of the fish itself...
