I had no clue they were quite that expensive! Good self control though.

Yup i remember a store once told me they could possibly get one but needed a $500 USD deposit, then another $500 USD on its arrival making it a fish that would total USD $1K... so bit to rich for my blood...

wow! if you don't mind... please share the fb feed :)

Im only sharing this here in hopes the puffer ends up in your tank Vince!!! So please dont dissapoint!!! :P

Also, now i can officially say, there is only maybe 1% of regret not getting it, since im broke as hell this month with Chinese New Year around the corner and a lot of big bills just paid lol...

I was offered a gorgeous pearl ray few years ago from a friend of mine. Was very cheap at the time, nicest pearl I’ve ever seen as an adult. What most would call a “white pearl” now. Was a large female, perfect for the hybrid I had. Anyways passed on it as I was moving and didn’t want to deal with moving more than what I already had. should have bought it.

Happened to me again recently. Local hobbiest shutting down his reef, offered his gem tang and Achilles tang to me for cheap. $800 for both. Passed on both of those as my tank is well stocked as is and i was going to be away for a month. This happened early December. Got an Aussie gold torch colony off him for $150 though. 5 heads roughly.

I’ve got big plans once my residency becomes more permanent. Between schooling and my area of work I move around a lot.

A 6” clown loach that had a very particular odd ball pattern that was incredible. It was $50 but I wanted to wait it out to get it for cheaper but it was gone in 3 days.

A ropefish. Getting harder to find around my area. Such a shame, I love those guys...
My ONLY LFS back in my hometown. Had a 30 gallon tank full of them and I regret not grabbing some. The owner never had oddball or rare fish but he ALWAYS had a tank full of ropefish, they were super cool. Would have made a great addition to my tank at the time.

Dang, should have snatched it. That is a great deal on that size of a clown loach at that size. The occasional 12" around here goes for $150-200

My Uncle had a 120 FOLR and my dad's friend has a 180 and I had always admired their massive tangs. The 180 had a full grown gem tang that was absolutely incredible. Coral prices have been stupid high lately around here. So $150 for 5 heads is pretty sweet.

No regrets yet as I've only been doing this for a year or so, but my LFS currently has a 12" Goliath Tiger for $400 that I desperately want, but that's not an aquarium fish unless you own SeaWorld or something

I remember years ago a mom and pop place that is now gone had this black moor goldfish not rare but this thing was huge about the size of a cantaloupe he wanted 25 bucks for it.. I thought about it then went to get it and the owner said some guy bought it for his 9 year old daughter that loved goldfish. In the time I went to another store then came back and that moor was gone
