So Ca
Yup title says it all. The sand clouds my water. Every night with the lights off my dats have fun stiring up the sand. I know why they are doing it, one is making his hide out a little deeper under the driftwood. SO I'm not mad about it, just regret using sand because it seems to really never settle down. I probably should have cleaned it better then I did, but come on now it's been well over a month and the sand is still creating major dust clouds in the water. I'm ready to move out all the fish and take the sand out.

I have cichlids and a clarias that stir up the sand, it never clouds the water.

What sand do you have?

To be honest, when I had gravel and that was disturbed, that would make a mess of the water because of all the clogged crap in it.

I used that pre-washed sand blasting sand, I probably didnt clean it as well as I should have like I said, but it did say it was pre-weashed. Anyway it does cloud up my water =(

I have sand that never clouds water either......how long have you had the sand in there?

Also I did buy the playsand as well and noticed how freaking dirty it was so I opted with this stuff which is actually a little more corse(heavy) So I dunno why it's clouding but it is. It does have some very fine flaky particals, and thats probably the reason.

Ya guys think I should just give it more time? One of the dats did some serious digigng like I said lol he now has a big berm outside his hideout....lol I just Hate seeing the water look soo cloudy.

im using pool filter sand for my 55 gallon and 30 gallon and it dont cloud up even when i put the water in the tanks it never cloud up......
