Going through some old pics.
I wish this guy would have made it. I had very high hopes of seeing these whiskers attached to a 18" catfish.

Anybody else seen anything like this. Post some pics.
I have a couple cats with split whiskers at the ends but nothing like this guy had.
What causes it???

Strange but cool:D

Yup, one of a kind.

i always thought the whiskers split only when there is a partial injury to the barbels

but u cats barbels seem to split just for the heck of it
too bad though that the little blighter didn't make it, thats one of the downfalls among many of the hybrids

It was a marble cat. Not a hybrid.
And I thought the whiskers could tend to do that when damaged to, but this guys were split in so many places.

really?
i thought it was a hybrid too. looks just like an RTCxmarble...

I think it looked like a hybrid cause it was so small. He was only about 2"-3".

That IS a hybrid actually, baby marbles are MUCH darker, even when over light sediment and stressed. Their fins also do not look like that. (I have one, this is coming from my own experience.)
