I found this thread to be interesting because it was precisely this kind of peaceful aquatic display that got me interested in aquariums many years ago. However, for me, a "shift" occurred somewhere along the line in terms of how I view my tanks and fish. Now, my tanks seem more like "kennels". I suppose this is due to the size of my Dats and the austerity of my bare bottom tanks. Instead of sitting back at a distance and watching the fish swim around, I'm always standing in front of the tank with my hands in the water, petting them, hand-feeding them and talking to them (as if they could understand me). I guess either way, it keeps me out of trouble.

my oscar in my 55 gallon is hand fed and i pet him. i've had him for a long time. my 75 gallon in the picture is my new tank. i love this thing. i can put so much more fish in it and all.

Looks good Jimmy, just keep an eye on the FH.At some point it will claim the whole tank as it's territory.

I come home from hellish work and sit in my LazyBoy while watching HD tv in front of me, my 20g FOWLR SW tank to my left and my 75g planted tank to my right. It keeps me sane. The computer is next to my lazy boy too, so I browse forums too. :)
