I don't think the supporters are crazy. I personally do not care one way or the other as long as it doesn't destroy a already well maintained system. I am however a lover of snakeheads and I think it is unfair that largemouths are not native to my area but no one complains about them. In the end to each its own. I would love to be able to go fishing in the DMV for parachromis and amphillophis cichlids. Or A GOONCH!!!!

Alright so there are alot of good points and some very "off" points lol. I do not think anyone from THIS forum should ever think about trying out stocking. I believe the ONLY people that are in a position to do this (legally, educated and experienced) biologists consulting with ecologists and other biologists. The fact that opinions like "this fish in this lake doesnt do anything" is a terrible way to determine that it is ok to stock a fish. Likewise, saying snakeheads destroyed the ecosystem is a poor arguement for saying we should never stock a nonnative animal. Research and science, real science and not just speculation and personal opinion is what should dictate what is done.

This is why politicians listen to the public, and scientists listen to the numbers

The information was given to me by someone who works closely with the DNR?. there i go trusting the same idiots who introduced alot of this stuff to begin with. sadly you assume everyone just assumes they are right, glad i learned something new today...

but.. i am a mother to a 9 month old and have seen what a strangled kitten looks like.. you you sir have been entirely MORE offensive then i unintentionally was. not to mention one of my friends kid suffered abuse by his own father. so the next time smarting off like an idiot you might consider Your words.
 
I think we should have more nuclear power plants on our lakes. It allows non native species to survive harsh winters.
