Obviously you dont read the whole statement the OP stated "Carp and Snake Heads in the great lakes are just some freak occurrences... Nature should be able to take its course... Survival of the fittest...As it always has been.
Carp and Snakeheads will not survive long pr flourish in the frigid waters up north anyway
".....HE is talking about the invasives in the Americas. His post is pure ignorance.

I don't give a crap about the great lakes.

1. I'm not in America
2. I don't release foreign animals into the wild
3. I am not a ranger or employed to oversee the balance of nature or watch for invasive species.

I love and enjoy keeping and breeding tropical fish and I couldn't give a crap what careless people are doing, I have no involvement and my actions would do nothing so why bother making a big fuss about it? As i said species have been invading foreign lands since around the same time colonialism started. nature always balances itself out in the end along with evolution. the Dinosaurs all went extinct without any input from man, so we can't blame all extinction on humans, its the invasive species that are doing the killing, or maybe even its the local authorities that aren't doing enough to restrict the spread of the species, either way it has nothing to do with me so I'm not bothered.

I have lots of things to worry about in my life and invasive species around the world are right down there with alien abduction.

Intelligent arguement. Invasive species are doing the killing not us. Releasing an invasive is the same as hiring a hit-man. We didnt do the killing, but we ARE to blame for it. True, animals did go extinct before humans were around. Look at how many animals went extinct prior to humans. Compare with how many went extinct in the last 200 years, or since the industrial revolution.

Invasives(that we introduced) are a leading cause to animal extinction-

You make absolutely, 100% no sense whatsoever in your lame arguement...its the invasive species that are doing the killing, or maybe even its the local authorities that aren't doing enough to restrict the spread of the species <-- you need to read this over and over untill you realize what you just said.

1. How are invasives invading foreign land without the help of human interaction?
2. What does colonialism have to do with invasives if the invasises are the ones doing the invading?
3. What exactly can or do you want the local authorities to do? How do you expect them to fix a problem some of us have started? You want a local authority at every creek, lake, river corner just to make sure some folks arent releasing non-natives or maybe they can catch the invasives as they are invading out waters?
4. Since you became a fish keeper, or as you call it, animal keeper because you dont release animals into the wild, you are now, personally and ethically obligated to make sure your fish or animals are not released into native waters.
5. If your statement is true, you do have time to worry about invasives species because you told us you dont release animals into the wild. When you say around the world, thats just what it means around the world, where you live is part of around the world.
6. Nature doesnt always balance itself out, do you think the Mississippi River, Ohio River, etc. are balanced out with the invasion of the bighead and silver carp? Or do you think over an extended period of time, which we wont see in our lifetime, the fish will eventually kill themselves off or bring their population down to a manageable level? This is an answer we dont know and neither do you.
7. What does a dinosaur have anything to with what we are talking about here?

Masterb hit it on the head perfectly, and I think I just realised ur user name Lmao.....

Sure you don't give any crap about the invasives. But it did affect our hobby. Some of us will never have any chance to keep a snakehead, clarias catfish or a piranha legally because of some idiots released these same species in the waterways in United States. Same with other countries that they cannot keep a specific fish. How would you like to see your favorite fish get banned?

You may not worry about the invasives affecting your life, but some of us lived with these invasives as their life has changed. Asian carps, zebra mussels, feral hogs etc has put few of us out of their businesses and can't make their living without have invasives affecting them. Common/Grass carps, Eurasian Milfoil and few aquatic plants have altered our beautiful lakes to ugliest lakes you ever seen. Good-bye to fishing, resorts, swimming beaches or boating. It sucks to see your loved to get hurt by one of these invasives or lost your best job to them. But don't worry you are not American.
