Hello everyone, does anyone have a link or no of a website that will have the most current up to date info on names of fish? For instance I was looking up cutteri a few months back and I saw it called cryptoheros as well as archocentrus, I still don't know what is the correct name. So the question is does anyone know where to find that info? Thanks in advance.

Try the Cichlid Room Companion (cichlidae.com I think). It is up to date and has some very good info on native locations. You need to be a subscriber to get all the info.

It is a good site for info. I beleive the main difference between archo and crypo is the body and size. They is an article on that, and is very interesting.

I'll throw my support also for the cichlid room companion. That's where I go for the most updated information on cichlid classification. :)

I always have a way of testing if I site is up to date or not, when they call a 'Green Terror' (not starting the discussing about real or fake hehe) Aequidens Rivulatus, then it's not up to date, but when they call them Andinoacara Rivulatus then it is.

Well on cichlid room companion they call them Andinoacara Rivulatus.:)

I'm probably gonna have to join cichlid room companion. I tried to go to there site and I only get partial pages. Kinda sucks that you have to pay for it. But I guess its like a subscription, and you get a free book that's always a plus. Thanks for the help.

I agree with all the comments on the CRC, though updating the constant name changes does seem to be several months behind most of the time. It takes time to see if the new name will be accepted or not, then chance the coding, ect.
