remember the threads about petsmart trimacs

Ok guys do u remember all the threads about petsmart trimacs being called low grade flowerhorns. Here are some pics of a f1 trimac i bought from jeff rapps and pics of a petsmart trimac that are grown to about 4.5 inches now.

can you tell the difference.

Rapps is the one with the prodominant 3 spots...MAybe

the head profile of the true trimac is somewhat more pointed from what i can see
the FH head profile looks somewhat more blunt in comparison

tell me what order there in. for example pic 1 is and pic 2 is pic 3 is and such. after we get a few replies then i will tell you which is which. good luck

How about some clear pics that don't have glare from the camera flash. Looks as if 1 & 5 are the trimac from rapps and 3,4 and 6 are petsmart. To is so foggy hard to really tell but would guess rapps.

1 and 5 are the same fish and 2,3,4 and 6 are the other fish.

You cannot visually tell the difference between a trimac and a low-grade flowerhorn. That's the whole issue of Petsmart selling flowerhorns as trimacs.

X3, alot o people don't understand that, and just guess which is which nowadays on these forums. ugh

i'd say 3 4 and 6 are from rappes and 1 ,2 and 5 are the petsmart one
