Water Changes??? Why? I Had the best Magnum Back then......Oh and 2 x Whisper 3's, with a UG and Power Heads.

My Africans were gorgeous! But I would bet all of my tanks, that I lost Soooooooooo Much more than I had to,

Had I know what I know Today.......

Wait, I tell my kids that on a Daily Basis! Don't make the mistake(s) I did!

Now? Water Changes almost weekly, (or 10 days or so)
Massive Filter Turnover
Bio-Star, Balls, Media, in almost Every filter!
Watch for Fish interaction (With me and other fish)
Foods (Damn things eat better than me, most of the time!)

Back in the day.....Ignorance was bliss Huh?

I remember that when I did a water change, it was every 6 months to a year and it would be a 100% water change. The fish were always fine, but now I'm afraid of trying something like that again.

When I was around 10 years old, I had two oscars in a 20 gallon tank. Back then I thought this 20 could house anything. Even looked at getting snakedheads for it, back when they were still legal. Looking back I feel bad for those oscars. Like a lot of people, I didn't do water changes, gave them a lot of feeders, etc.
