Remington 870 Home Defender

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I had an 870 Express for a while, great reliable firearm. Bought for bear protection. Back in the late 90s my appartment got burgled, the 870 was one of the items taken. They moved a 1977 Fender Jazz and a 1895 Chilean Mauser to get to the shotgun. A year after I reported the theft and ave the LEos the serial # for the firearm, they contacted me and asked if I found it.

that why I keep mine out. you see my pics on the first few pages?? right behind my pillow. even then, if it is locked, i think its a much better option than trying to call 911. by the time you realize somebody has broken in, grab your phone, dial 911, press 1 for an emergency, press 2 for a robbery, wait for the operator, guess what, you're DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and i dont have kids so that why I keep the guns out, so once i do have kids thats gonna have to change.

and who doesnt love guns??? :) well except for tree huggers and democrats!! ;)

I am paranoid about keeping my gun unlocked... I don't have kids either, I just don't trust having it around like that. I'm a student though, so I've never been in a position where I don't live with 4 other people and have parties every week...

I'm not sure if I could legally keep a gun like that where I live. I guess a locked room is technically the same as a locked case or triggerlock, but I'm not sure how that goes...

Guns are fun, but I'd never think about using it against a person, even when preparing for potential break-ins or whatever. My rifle is for hunting, I don't even consider it a weapon or form of defense... I guess that gun safety and hunters ed course I took really made an impression

Your opinion will change once you have kids and a wife.
