Seeing as I am new to this "Big Fish" fishkeeping...a question popped into my head as I am browsing these boards and seeing all your wonderful "large" fish.....

When the time comes....how the heck do you move something that big? How do you catch it? When my 7" Silver Aro is 2 feet long.......do I use a fishing net to catch him (if I ever have to)? What the heck do you put them in, and still be able to move it, once they are out of the tank?

Curious how you all deal with this.

I drain the tank down and grab them with a towel

This is a great thread, because in several weeks I will have to catch and move a 15" angry LM Bass into his new home. I think a big net will be the order of the day.

Just make sure the net has no knots in it, like the old style nets). I also wouldn't recommend holding a fish with a towel as that may remove the fishes protective slime and make it prone to deseases.
