Haha yes I did I swear, but I ramble on and on so don't blame you for skimming over it LOL. I had the same thought, too early for her to abort anything. So see that pic of the sump with the hole in the drywall? That's about the leeway I'll have to raise the tank, that's I believe all the space I could get before I hit a stud. That wall goes part way up on the floor above. Any suggestions as to actual foam removal or would you do it the way I thought? I got a length of 2" pipe and some couplings at home, and worst cast can strip bulkheads off the other tank that's not in use. Or do another JB Weld fix LOL

This is going to be a tough one, dont worry about the ray still two young, embryo hardly developed at all. I'd raise one end put 2x4 under go to the other end raise it and take the foam out in one shot, if it's been sitting on the foam for a while it may stick to the bottom a little so have something nearby you can scrape it off, paint scraper or something, may not even be a problem but nice to have around. Your method sounds fine and bullet proof as well, shouldn't take long, hour tops, longest part will be the drain and fill.

Can you disconnect a union valve? Take the bulkheads out?

The bulkhead should just separate from the male and female connections correct? Disconnect it and then connect it after the foam is out

Ok, what's the glued matt :-) that's more information.

No bulkhead on the bottom of the tank helps. If you feel you've enough clearance with the 2x4 to make a fast and clean cut, then that's a good approach. The one thing to consider is just removing the two bulkheads so you have more flexibility. If you have more clearance it may be a quicker process...get under cut and pull each side out one at a time. Put bulkheads back.

Why do you need to remove the foam? I have foam under a lot of my tanks and it has never caused a problem. I use foam to fill the space between the stand and the center of the bottom fo the tank. If you have to cut pipe, install some union fittings to make it easier if you ever have to do it again.
