It depends on what it is stuck on. If it is on your hands and you did not rub it in, it will peal off in sheets. If you rubbed it in, TIME or plumbers hand cleaner will remove it. If you dripped it on plastic or acrylic, it chemically bonded like it was suppose to.
^^ meaning it's sanding and polishing time for you, but if you want to dismantal a welded tank then you need to cut it apart, like with a fine jigsaw, this stuff melts its way into the acrylic...
what are you trying to remove it from? once i got lucky with useing a razor blade and scraping it off, holding it at a 90 to the plastic, then a bit of polishing... and it looked mint.
im trying to take off the weldon so i can change the bulkhead. i dont mind the looks its can be all scratched up. im going to fill it up with sand anyways.
and btw thank you everyone for the help. i was thinking nobody would answer since this is kind of a weird question... i think
If the weldon was dripped on the bulkhead by accident, run a razor blade (from a utility knife) under the bulkhead to free it.
If the bulkhead was installed using weldon...
The job isn't going to be a small one. How bad do you want to change it?
You will need a wood boring drill bit (flat) that is the same size as the outer diameter of the bulkhead. You will need to grind off the outer tooth. Next you will need to find pvc parts to fill the hole in the bulkhead to keep the bit centered.
Then you just drill the face of it off. Keep a watchfull eye for when you hit clear acrylic.
To address the remainder of the bulkhead, you will just use regular drill bits that are progressively larger until you reach clear acrylic.
Oh, an easy way to remove the bulkhead is to use a hole saw that is the same size as the diameter of the face of the bulkhead. Drill the whole thing out and then install a big bulkhead to fill the larger hole.
thank you chompers for the advice. i think it was previously weldon be4 i i pucrchased it because the bulkhead was leaking. and now the bulkhead is leaking again becase i did some moving and i guess i broke the seal. thats why i wanna remove the weldon and then change the bulkhead to a new one. i dont know if the drilling a larger hole will work because this is the biggest bulkhead avaiable which i think is 2 inch?
