My xp3 started to leak very slowly a few months back but it stopped and haven't had a prob since priming is a breeze. Was there slack in the intake and out take hoses? That's the only thing i can think of that would prevent it from priming properly. I like the water flow from the xp3 compared to the fluval 405 both are running on a 125 gal but when i replace the xp3 i will be getting a fluval fx5.

Maybe I just got a bad filter, I don't know. It was brand new & I was using it correctly. I was running it on a 150 with an AC110. I'm not too upset about it anymore, I knew I would have to upgrade filtration anyways. I'm using two 110s now and that will be enough until my fish get to adult size. Then I can check out FX5 vs. FX6. I'd damn sure buy two of them now if I could get them at $100 new. I don't do 2nd hand filters.
