Rena Filstar XP4 Canister Filter

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i have one on my 150 fw along with a aquaclear 110 (im thinking about adding something else or replacing the 110 with another xp3 or 4)
imo this is a great filter with lots of different media to choose from for whatever your needs are, and for the amount of water it moves its a pretty good price.
and on another less important note(to me anyways) this thing is almost silent.
i give it a 10 out of 10 so far.

had my xp3 for 6 years-ish. i'll swear by them...

although in a 200g your probably going to want 2 of them,
or one and something else, unless you have a light bio load

I have 2 XP4's in my 180 gallon, along with an AC 110 and 35 gallon wet/dry. Water parameters are very good. I also have an XP3 and XP2 working in a 100 gallon. Water is very clear.
My only concern is that when removing the XP4's from beneath the aquarium and out of the stand for cleaning, they're heavy!

I have a XP3 in my 75g tank and I love it. It really moves some water. When I get my 180g I'll either get the XP4 or the FX5. How much taller is the FX5 compared to the XP4?

Great filters! I love them. But they do not do as large of a tank as they say they do. I had an XP2 & XP3 on my 70G corner tank. O-ring went bad on my XP2, so now its just the XP3. I really wish I had the XP2 back on there. Make a huge difference.

For all the money and all the maintainance, I would just build/buy a wet/dry.
