Hmm...the attatchment is only 16mm. I wonder if this would work for the fx5 intake tubing. I measured it at 7/8 in. I'll have to check on that. That's a big negative on that one. Should've ordered the filter I wanted first. Maybe down the line I'll get an xp3 and move this heater to another tank with it.

maybe speak to one of the diy whizzes on this site about a little extra plumbing to attatch the fx5 hose to the attatchment.
Yea, but that would just be bottle necking the inlet for the fx5. I would have to expand the heater inlet somehow and I dont think that's possible.
