the only good thing about the RENA IMO is the bio chem-star media .. there the poorman's bioball's $13.99 for 20 star's . witch stated on the box is good for 100 gal's , this and bio-max , aswell as two other type's are all I run in my FLUVAL!!

Bio chem stars- Cheap mans bio balls you say, I'll get 3 gallons of bioballs for $13.99. I was going to fill my XP3 with those and realized it would cost $40(still cheaper than that german crap). I switched to a rock media instead and filled the whole filter for about $8.

xp3 is an awsome filter great flow and very quiet ,runs trouble free and primes quickly
