its crazy how cheap these filters used to go for. a few years back i bought 3 xp3s for my 120 4x2 tank at 90 bucks a pop. got them of big als online for 89.99. Now i run the 120 with 2xp3s and a cfs500 (fx5 knockoff)- the flow was needed for this tank, i found the xp3s to be a little low for the tank. The other xp3 is on a 20 gallon haha

Two rena XP3s versus one Fluval FX5. You'll have only about half the turn over with the XP3s so the mechanical filtration won't be as good. Biologically speaking either would be suffice. It is better to run two filters over one though for safetyinsurance type reasons. Just what I've found from running each.
I gave away my XP3... would liked to have smashed it with a baseball bat, but I like to recycle. Hmm... Could have made a decent flower pot or small trash can.
