Although a single XP3 set up properly would filter your tank, why risk your fish to a single filter. Best bet would be to compliment the XP3 with a pair of AC110s
When my sump broke on my 320g tank I had an XP3, an XP4 and 4 V Hydrosponges on the tank. They did just fine for about 4 months until I could fix my 60g sump. I would recommend using 2 XP3's as well as an AC filter or hydrosponges for mechanical filtration. That should work for a while but you will need a bigger tank for your gars and rays, with a footprint of at least 6' x 3'.
heh thanks guys. The tank is only untill i can get my pond up. Hopefully in within 1 year. cant gaurentee it. ray would most likly be a motoro. i have one xp3 now and want some back up. oh and a fx5 and 2 ac 110..... have you priced that? im working on a budget for a few months. The only inhabitent would be my 14" florida gar untill i get some more filtration and money.

please read that post more carefully. the current stock will be a 14" florida gar. the rest of the fish will be in a few months. ive established i need more filtration. now im trying to decide what.
The fx5 is a good filter and should be able to handle the bio-load of one 14" gar. I would fill all the buckets with bio so when you transfer all the other fish over, you have plenty of bio available. I have never owned one, but I hear rays are messy and sensitive. I would test regularly to make sure the fx5 was doing the job. It should, but always double check.
