i just picked up one of these filters and the filter seems ok but the inlet and outlet pieces are absolute crap they look like they were made by lego im gonna pick up some fluval hose w/ the matching inlet/outlet parts

How are they crap? I run them on all my xp3s. They work they same as the ones with all my other canister filters.

I just bought the XP3 and I said the same thing about the inlet and outlet but in the end it didnt matter because the filter works flawlessly.

yeah the filter is great its just the fisherprice parts that look awful they work fine though

i'm runnning an xp3 and don't like the inlet. what are you replacing with?

save yourself some money and build your own inlet and or outlet out of pvc.

Why not just spray paint them to match your background, then it won't matter how they look.

That's what a lot of people do anyway, no matter what filter they're running.
