yeah my bad i meant US gallons. either way your xp4 should provide plenty of filtration for your set-up. ive stocked my 180 pretty heavily before and had no water quality issues.

well litres are the same so if that site is us gallon then it is 720lph, im getting 820lph with my bigger tubes, so there is nothing wrong ;)

here in the uk they dont tend to be as honest with flow rates like that site from the link where it gives you flow rate with media and pipes, the websites in the uk just rate it as 1500lph

i have an xp3 xp4 and 304 on my 120 gallon, filters amazingly lol.

what amount of bio media do i need to fill 1 tray of my xp4, biomax is selling in a box of 1100g i have no idea how much that is will it fill 1 basket ?

other bio media is for sale in 1L boxes would i need 1 or 2 of these to fill 1 basket ?

Don't worry too much about the flow rate, it's the media capacity that's most important for biological filtration. Although flow rate does help with mechanical filtration, you only need so much. The importance of the flow rate is overrated and media capacity is underrated. My Eheim 2217 only turns the water in my 75G 3.5x/hr and it's crystal clear within 2 hours of a messy meal.

ok cheers dmaan :headbang2

the xp4 is rated at 190gph with stock media and tubing by per factory specs

Thats really sad for a filter there advertising as being able to put out 450 GPH. Then dropping to a tested 216 GPH or even a rated flow of 190 GPH? That puts this filter down on the crap list now.

This filter would be good for bio filtration probubly...maybe, on a 75 gallon tank.. I call BS on the fact they are telling us it will filter 265 gallon tanks. 0.87 cycles per hour at 190 GPH! BAHAHAHA

almost 4 cycles per hour on a 55 gallon tank. THANK GOD I got rid of mine.

$180-250 for a 190 GPH filter... You won't have to remind me to not stock these If I open my store.
