Flowerpower,
I do not plan on marketing the gelling agent on it's own because it needs to be customized to work with different formulas based on the amount of protein, cellulose/starch, and minerals in the formula.
You CAN however, add things to it in small amounts without much effect. You might see reduced gel firmness as you ad more of something, but you should be able to easily add 5% of your favorite ingredient, or even pellets... without much change, and possibly, up to 10%. You would just need to try. One thing the gels do very well is give you a vehicle for adding medication to the diet. The gels lock in nutrients better than flake or pellet, and medicating a gel is the best way to guarantee internal delivery if the fish are still eating.
Cheers, Allen

@Allen/Rachel, will it be possible to purchase the gelling agent on it's own? Alternatively, could I mix other pureed ingredients into the formula w/out ruining the consistency of the finished product? The ability to do either would be of great interest to me personally.
